Obama steps to Congress He’s late? Now you know he’s Black.

Posted on 24 Feb 2009 at 6:25pm

He’s a little late,(he’s a little black to) but this speech he’s about to give better not be late or a repeat of so many things already said. He’s got to show us the money instead of the credit. Why put Americans in more debt? Give us some cash. I loved the opening announcement by the Sergeant of Arms “The President of the United States!” Then Obama pimped his head to the side. Forgive me it’s a black thang.

The Republicans doing all they can to fake the funk for him. So we hope he brings it tonight and persuades this government, our elected government, to help the American people with something better than credit. (except for small businesses) But how about self worth and material worth and if you say we have to take the credit, we’ll take it. But damn just don’t make it all about that.  Why don’t you guys up on Capitol Hill give back what you haven stolen? Our money, our credit, our way of American life. C’mon, shit. Give it back.

Well, we here at NBNtoday are listening with hope for us all. He’s has to bring something different to this house. We’ve all seen his act before. So we hope he has new jokes.

Here’s a plan for the #$%%^ man.

Posted on 10 Feb 2009 at 3:54pm

“The Proposal” dig this it’s one of the best do-over plans I’ve heard of in a long time It’s something we should take to Obama after he succeeds in the White House because no one listen until he has. If his idea of how to run this country fails this plan can be an option for the next President to succeed. Here’s the plan: (below) When a company falls on difficult times, one of the things that seems to happenis they reduce their staff and workers. The remaining workers need to find ways to continue to do a good job or risk that their job would be eliminated as well. Wall street, and the media normally congratulate the CEO for making this type of “tough decision”, and his board of directors gives him a big bonus.

Our government should not be immune from similar risks.

Therefore: Reduce the House of Representatives from the current 435 members to
218 members and Senate members from 100 to 50 (one per State). Also reduce
remaining staff by 25%.

Accomplish this over the next 8 years. (two steps / two elections) and of course
this would require some redistricting.

Some Yearly Monetary Gains Include:

$44,108,400 for elimination of base pay for congress. (267 members X $165,200
pay / member / yr.)

$97,175,000 for elimination of the above people's staff. (estimate $1.3 Million
in staff per each member of the House, and $3 Million in staff per each member
of the Senate every year)

$240,294 for the reduction in remaining staff by 25%.

$7,500,000,000 reduction in pork barrel ear-marks each year. (those members
whose jobs are gone. Current estimates for total government pork earmarks are
at $15 Billion / yr)

The remaining representatives would need to work smarter and would need to
improve efficiencies.  It might even be in their best interests to work together
for the good of our country?

We may also expect that smaller committees might lead to a more efficient
resolution of issues as well.  It might even be easier to keep track of what
your representative is doing.

Congress has more tools available to do their jobs than it had back in 1911 when
the current number of representatives was established.  (telephone, computers,
cell phones to name a few)

Note:
Congress did not hesitate to head home when it was a holiday, when the nation
needed a real fix to the economic problems.  Also, we have 3 senators that have
not been doing their jobs for the past 18+ months (on the campaign trail) and
still they all have been accepting full pay.  These facts alone support a
reduction in senators & congress.

Summary of opportunity:

$ 44,108,400 reduction of congress members.

$282,100, 000 for elimination of the reduced house member staff.

$150,000,000 for elimination of reduced senate member staff.

$59,675,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining house members.

$37,500,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining senate members.

$7,500,000,000 reduction in pork added to bills by the reduction of congress
members.

$8,073,383,400 per year, estimated total savings. (that's 8-BILLION just to
start!)

Big business does these types of cuts all the time.

If Congresspersons were required to serve 20, 25 or 30 years (like everyone
else) in order to collect retirement benefits there is no telling how much we
would save. Now they get full retirement after serving onlyONE term.

IF you are happy how the Congress spends our taxes, then chill out,  IF you are NOT
at all happy, then we will make an assumption you know what to do. It's not my plan
I didn't think of it, though I wish I had. But we will do all we can to expose
this plan to all our readers and listeners.

Here he is in front of the American people. Not hiding behind the doors of the Oval Office. He’s out here with us and doing his best to explain why we need to change how the White House does politics. By taking care of it’s people us.

60 votes away for a better day, boo ya!

Posted on 09 Feb 2009 at 5:13pm

That’s right just sixty votes in the Senate to pass Obama’s not so perfect stimulus package. Obama has been doing a helluva a job campaigning for the passing of this bill. (So has Michelle Obama)

He has stated many times how not so perfect this bill is. He said shit, it came out of the White House, passing through congress, that should let you know how imperfect the bill is. (Okay I said shit)

But it will give America the injection that it needs right now. To do nothing, to keep prolonging the inevitable, losing jobs, homes, and lives to this recession is simply not acceptable. That’s why we at NBNToday hope that this passes today.

There are 58 democratic senators. We just need 2 or more Republicans to agree to stop the financial madness in this country. We hear from a reliable source that there may be at least 3 Republicans willing to step up right now. That’s what we need right now, some right now Senators. Sixty of them at least to vote this in.

Now we hope there won’t be any trifiling Democrats to throw a wrench in Americas financial recovery. Seems that everyone and everything is in recovery these days. We wonder how many of these guys have taken the twelve steps to recover. Well let’s hope they start with the first step admitting they are powerless over this financial crisis and money and their lives and ours have become unmanageable by the U.S. government.

And vote “Yes” and pass this damn thing now will ya’ and quit cutting out shit that will help our nation. I’m talking about the 40 million dollars cut in education (Republicans cut) and then they cut the  ”Headstart” program from 2 billion to 1 billion and another 19 billion dollars for construction for schools. What the fluck is wrong with financing these things?

They will make things better in many ways. The kids will get the education and the grown folks would get the employment. I don’t understand why these particular Republicans are so dead against educating America. I guess the dumber we all are the more likely we all keep falling for their dumb ass ways of running a country. Where war, drugs and oil are the big money makers, and as long as most of the population is down they can stay up to their dirty politics.

It’s a Stimulus Showdown, the Republicans are going to fight Obama every step of the way. It’s going to be there downfall with the American people not like there not down already. But if they keep up their blocks and continue to keep American citizens out of work. They will never bounce back.  This party is wearing “Fuck you as a badge”.  This is political disrespect.
